Monthly challenges

🤍Each month features a mini challenge designed for different ages: elementary, middle school, high school, and adults. These challenges are simple, fun, and tied to the same theme so that everyone can participate and feel successful. Share photos or stories on Instagram tagging @impactnow.25 to be featured!

APRIL — Neighborhood Kindness (Spring into Action)

Elementary: Write 5 kind notes to neighbors or classmates. Tell them something you appreciate about them.

Middle School: Help an adult neighbor with yard work, carry groceries, or organize a quick litter clean‑up.

High School: Offer to tutor a younger student, help organize materials for a teacher, or lead a small clean‑up project.

Adults: Visit an elderly neighbor or someone who lives alone and spend 15–30 minutes checking in or helping with tasks.

MAY — Gratitude Month (Celebrate Appreciation)

Elementary: Write 10 thank‑you notes to school staff and friends.

Middle School: Create a “Thankful Wall” in your locker area or classroom with appreciative messages.

High School: Host a mini appreciation event for teachers or staff, bringing little snacks or cards.

Adults: Give 5 handwritten cards to people who serve you regularly (mail carrier, teacher, server, volunteer).

JUNE — Community Care Kits (Summer of Service)

Elementary: Assemble simple care kits (snacks, socks, hygiene items) to give to neighbors, shelters, or volunteers.

Middle School: Organize a group to collect items for care kits and distribute them at a local shelter.

High School: Lead a care‑kit assembly event with your friends or club and deliver to a local partner nonprofit.

Adults: Partner with a local shelter or church to host a care kit drive and help distribute them to individuals in need.

JULY — “Help a Neighbor” Month

Elementary: Offer to help neighbors with organizing their porch or watering plants.

Middle School: Shovel, rake, or sweep for a neighbor in need.

High School: Offer tech help (setting up phones, teaching apps) for older neighbors.

Adults: Organize a neighborhood task day (yards, errands, dog walking).

AUGUST — School Support Starter

Elementary: Bring school supplies for classmates who need extras.

Middle School: Volunteer to help in library or classroom organization.

High School: Start a small donation drive for school supplies.

Adults: Coordinate a back‑to‑school supply drop with friends or coworkers.


SEPTEMBER — Share a Story of Good

Elementary: Draw a picture of someone doing something kind and share it with a friend.

Middle School: Write a short paragraph about someone who inspired you and post it (with permission).

High School: Interview someone in your community about a kind act they did and share the story (with permission).

Adults: Submit a testimony or story of someone in your neighborhood whose kindness made a difference.

OCTOBER — Community Clean‑Up

Elementary: Organize a small park clean‑up with family.

Middle School: Host a school clean‑up day with trash bags and gloves.

High School: Lead a local clean‑up with a club or team.

Adults: Coordinate with a local park department or garden club for a larger clean‑up event.

NOVEMBER — Gratitude Chain

Elementary: Thank someone and encourage them to thank someone else.

Middle School: Create a classroom thank‑you chain linking multiple people.

High School: Start a school‑wide gratitude chain on social media.

Adults: Send encouraging emails to coworkers or community members and ask them to pass it on.

DECEMBER — Warm Hearts Drive

Elementary: Donate hats, mittens, or blankets to a local shelter.

Middle School: Host a small collection box at school or house.

High School: Partner with a group for a community coat + blanket drive.

Adults: Coordinate a winter item drive with coworkers or church group.
