Cassandra Negrete

“My name is Cassandra Negrete, and I am from Houston, Texas. I am honored to serve as USA Icon Miss Texas, using my title as a platform to give back and create meaningful impact in my community. Through pageantry, I have developed a deep passion for service, especially through my work with BEAR Houston, an organization that supports children in CPS and at-risk home situations. One of the most meaningful experiences for me has been participating in their annual Christmas toy drives, where I have had the opportunity to help bring joy and comfort to children during the holiday season. These moments have strengthened my commitment to service and continue to inspire me to uplift and support others in every way I can.”

Rachel Sullivan

“Community service is not only a way to give back to the community you're in but also a way to learn about yourself! You're able to meet so many new people and learn about their passions and joys. You also get to challenge yourself by giving your time and talents to others. I love to work with little free libraries around my town; I have one of my own too! I collect unwanted/ unused books from neighbors, family, and friends to place in these libraries. These libraries offer free resources to families who may need some learning tools or entertainment for their children. I remember the excitement I used to feel when I would pick out a new book from the little free library at my school, and now I find joy in giving the experience to those in Olathe!”
